Brighton Ashtanga yoga teachers

Sarah Miles

Sarah MilesI was introduced to Astanga yoga in 1998 by Kristina Karitinos-Ireland & Julie Martin. My enthusiasm led me to Mysore India in 2002 where, as well as my daily practice, I also studied Therapeutic Yoga, Pranayama and the Sutras. On my return I began assisting Julie Martin daily in the BNHC in Brighton for 2 years. During this period of time, I was also lucky enough to assist Louise Ellis (one of a small handful of Certified woman in the world).

In 2004 Russell Case took over and invited me to continue assisting. At the end of the year Russell suggested I take over the programme. I've been teaching Mysore style at 6:30AM ever since!

I believe in the Traditional method of Astanga yoga as taught to me in the lineage of Sri K.Pattabhi Jois. I have a good relationship with my teacher Manju Jois but I also have influences of John Scott in my teaching style.

I am constantly amazed by this healing practice. My intention is to create a safe, nurturing and trusting environment that is comfortable and accessible to all.
